Common Questions
Where is camera video stored, cloud or local?
Your choice. We install local-recording systems using UniFi Protect, Reolink NVRs, and other on-site options for customers who want their video on their own hardware. We also install cloud-based systems like Ring or Nest when the customer prefers that convenience. Each has tradeoffs and we talk through them during the consultation.
Will the cameras work during a power outage?
With a UPS or battery backup, yes. We size a backup to fit the system so cameras and the recorder keep running for a defined number of hours during an outage. Without a backup, cameras go down when the power does.
Who else has access to my video?
With local recording systems, no one outside your household unless you explicitly share access. With cloud systems, the manufacturer has access per their privacy policy. We disclose this during the system selection.
Can I get alerts on my phone when something is detected?
Yes. Modern systems support person, vehicle, and package detection, plus tuned alert zones so you are not buzzed every time a tree moves. We configure the alerts to be useful, not noisy.
Do the cameras work at night?
Yes. We install cameras with infrared night vision or low-light color capability depending on the lighting conditions at your property. We design for real nighttime performance, not just daytime specs.
